Langkawi. The island well known for being adjacent to the Thai border. Actually, it's probably even more well known for being the "Duty-free island" to most of you chocoholics and alcohol drinkers, ain't it?
Mark, Sabrina and I packed our bags and headed off to Langkawi for a 3 days 2 night trip as the 8tv Quickie Team, in conjunction with the Mangrove For Life Campaign hosted by Berjaya Langkawi Resort.
Now what is the Mangrove For Life Campaign, you may ask? The programme/campaign is a joined effort between Berjaya Langkawi, The Malaysian Nature Society, Institute of Foresters Malaysia, as well as the villagers of Kuala Melaka in Kuala Teriang.
For those who are highly unaware of what actually happened back in 2004, Kampung Kuala Melaka was one of the many places in Langkawi that was affected badly by the Tsunami hits. Now why did this happen though? Simple. There were NO coastal protectional guarding that could have blocked the waves from hitting as bad as it did.
Thus, The Mangrove For Life Campaign was brought up to further educated us about how WE would be able to play a part in helping the people of Langkawi further prevent this situation from happening once more.
Now I'm not going to talk too much about the activities that we did there for this post, so you'd just have to wait till Part 2 publishes!
But for now, how 'bout you just enjoy some of the pictures taken during the first day of the trip?
Never say NO to Big Hero 6!
Good Lord, Mark.
Our dear friend, Abel from Berjaya educating us a little about the campaign.
Now how can you ever resist this beautiful Sea view Chalet with an ocean-overlooking view?!
Dying to go back already!
Oh and did I mention that you'd have a jacuzzi too?!
Nature walk around the resort after checking in.
Our sweetheart guide storying us about what the monkeys here in the forest can actually do!
Time for some rest and relax session with Mark by the beach!
Yes ladies, the London boy IS indeed single! Any intros needed? :p
Breathtaking view all day, everyday
Finally! Dinner at Pahn Thai Restaurant by the sea! I literally went beast mode that night. Hahahaha. No seriously.
Couldn't figure out my new camera's night mode yet. Sigh.
Mark: Hey man. Could you take a picture of us?
Man: sure! *Takes a pic far far away*
YOU HAD ONE JOB. One job.
